  • Sílvia Roque, Professor at the University of Évora, expert in International Relations and African studies, with a focus on violence, peace and security (moderator).

  • Muhamad da Costa Ali Yassine, member of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, vice-president of the Commission for International Relations, Cooperation and Communities and Head of the Islamic Cooperation Organisation 

  • Father Eduard Andrés Roca Oliver,  priest on the outskirts of Pemba since 2012, in a predominantly Muslim area, is Delegate for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue in this diocese

  • Fernando Jorge Cardoso, executive director of the Club of Lisbon, expert in African Studies, and Visiting Professor at the Autónoma Lisbon University  

  • João Feijó, principal researcher at the Observatório do Meio Rural, sociologist and PhD in African Studies. He has published on social identities and representations, labour relations, migration and the impact of major projects on rural populations 

 

This is the second session in a seminars' series organised by the Club of Lisbon, in collaboration with KAICIID - International Dialogue Centre, and in partnership with academic institutions from four universities - Coimbra, Évora, Minho and Autónoma de Lisboa - to reflect and dialogue on the use of religion to justify violence on the African continent.
